When I first started on my online gambling journey, I can honestly say that I got dizzy with the number of sites there were out there to choose from. My biggest fear was picking the wrong type of casino and putting my hard earned cash with a site that did not meet my expectations. Luckily, there are ways to choose a good online casino, and here are a few of my favorite tips.
- Check what others are saying: Nothing gives you better insight into the reputation of an online casino than the experience of other players. Your fellow players love sharing their stories (good and bad) on gambling portals, and this should be your first stop when choosing a site.
- Check the casino’s software provider: If the site is operated by a well known software provider with a good reputation in the industry, then you know you’re on the right track. Software groups with a reputation to protect will not link with shady online casinos.
- Check out customer support: Any site can promise you the world, but you need to see how the site will react when you’re in need of assistance at 2 am! Give their customer support team a test run by asking a question and checking to see how promptly they reply and in what manner. As a rule of thumb, I’d avoid sites that can be reached for 2 hours a day via a single email address and then take 48 hours to reply!
- Check to see if the site is licensed: A good site will proudly display the fact that it is licensed by a reputable licensing jurisdiction, as well as any other accreditation such as an eCOGRA seal.
