Give their customer support team a test run by asking a question and checking to see how promptly they reply and in what manner. As a rule of thumb, I’d avoid sites that can be reached for 2 hours a day via a single email address and then take 48 hours to reply!
Check to see if the site is licensed: A good site will proudly display the fact that it is licensed by a reputable licensing jurisdiction, as well as any other accreditation such as an eCOGRA seal.
